As I've mentioned before, protein intake needs to be balanced by increased intake of alkaline foods. This quick shake is great for a portable meal at the gym or on the go.
- Liquid (Water/Milk/Almond Breeze Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk/Carb Countdown)
- 1-2 servings of vanilla whey protein powder (20-40g protein)
- 1/4 c. fresh lemon juice
- 1/4 - 1/2 tsp vanilla extract (depends on your protein powder)
- Optional: 1/2 cup plain yogurt (low fat, greek or full fat - depending on your calories/carbs)
- Splenda, powdered erythritol or stevia to taste
- Lots of ice
